I have been suffering paralysis by analysis over choosing an offroad bumper. Get a beefy steel unit and give up parking assist and BSM? Keep the stock bumper and the features it offers but if you so much as tap it you are out a minimum of $600.00 for a step pad and a bumperette cover? Well, I tapped mine... Right into a CR-V and the the hunt started! First offering that came up told me that with my BSM set-up (There are two with the 3rd Gen) it was a no go sorry. Then I found Fishbone! E-mailed them and was told "It will work. Send it!" so send it I did and guess what? IT WORKS! That is worth the price of admission alone but add in features like real steel, corner steps, and included D-ring shackles and this bumper punches WAY above its price point! If you want to keep your safety systems and have the bumper Toyota "should" have put on the 3rd Gens (The OEM offering is maybe 1/16" sheet metal. It was clearly an after thought that looks pretty and that's it!) this is THE bumper to have. Works great, looks great, and the cost of entry is well below the competition! Install is easy and the written instructions make mounting either style BSM sensor easy. I had maybe 30 minutes in pulling the old bumper off, 2 hours removing, transfering, and cable managing the sensors and wiring harness. and 2 hours to mount, square up, level the bumper and torque everything down. One other thing... Fishbones customer service is on point and I have to give Jason a shout out and a HUGE thank you for helping me get this project across the finish line!
